Google Gets Fed FeedBurner

FeedBurner

It’s a done deal. Google buys the much-loved company FeedBurner for $100 million - good on them. Hey, I’m a fan of FeedBurner, it’s easy to use and the company has been rock-solid in adding new features and supporting things like podcasting. Others are not-so-much-fans of FeedBurner, as they are RSS ninjas that hold their feeds close to their chest. To each their own.

Is this purchase by Google a sign that Google is serious about RSS? Is this much, much bigger news than Microsoft including RSS support in silly IE 7? I guess it’s now in short order that will have easy-to-integrate AdSense ads in all the RSS feeds we read. Oh yippee…sarcasm, sarcasm.

Wallstripped

Wallstripped

Read all about it! Wallstrip, an indie video blog covering the action on Wall Street, was snatched up by CBS. Lindsay Campbell, the host of the show, reminds us that talent, though seemingly a dime a dozen these days, is still hot, hot, hot. What do others make of this move buy CBS? Is CBS flush with too much cash, or did they see a good thing on the cheap and decide, what the heck, it’s better then most of the stuff on our network anyway?

I’ve only watched Wallstrip for a combined total of a couple of minutes, but it sure was nice to watch a show about Wall Street without having to shower afterwards because you feel dirty - CNBC, I’m looking at you on this one.
