The Portland Social Media group is meeting tomorrow at 5pm on the 2nd floor of the Portland Center For The Performing Arts - 1111 SW Broadway Portland, OR (this is right next door to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall). The Platform International Animation Festival is happening this week in Portland and it’s the only major animation festival in the United States.
Come and hang out with us and a gaggle of young, bright animators who are exploring the new challenges and possibilities that contemporary and future technologies bring to animation.
You can RSVP on our EventBrite page - you don’t have to pay for a PLATFORM ticket, our meeting is FREE, so come and join us!

Hope you all can make it tonight. 7pm. Wieden+Kennedy. Portland is packed with mass transit, so I hope with the venue being downtown you can find a way to there. Make sure to RSVP for the event at our EventBrite page - it’s easy!
Marshall Kirkpatrick will be leading an excellent discussion on “Problems and Solutions in Social Media Production”. He’s commandeered four people to share their experience with creating or using social media and we hope everyone will take away something valuable from the discussion.
I’d say to arrive a few minutes early at W+K - it’s near Peet’s Coffee; I’d suggest you grab a cup of Peet’s, but that’s just me. Please “knock” on the large metal doors just outside of W+K if they are locked - knock real hard. Margaret or someone who works at W+K will hear you.
Tell them you are there are for the Social Media Workshop, and that we are meeting on the 3rd floor Nike space for the event.
AGAIN: We are meeting on the 3rd floor Nike space for the event.

We’re talking about Video tonight; I’ve corralled a few people to be on our ad hoc panel and since we’re meeting at Wieden+Kennedy, we have an amazing space that will aid in our conversations (large projection screens, plenty of space, etc.). Bring your video cameras, digital cameras and laptops - if you got them.
Feel free to park on the street, because it’s free after 7pm here in Portland. I wasn’t able to get food or drinks so make sure to grab a coffee and a quick snack before the meeting.
Please thank the folks at Wieden+Kennedy some time tonight for opening up their awesome space for us.
