I'm generally in favor of this but many folks feel it could actually be more dangerous and could potentially make it so bikes couldn't use the regular road.  Personally, I love the quote of the former mayor of Bogata', Columbia, Enrique Peñalosa, that states that a bike lane that can't be used by an 8-year old is not a bike lane.

BTW, Clarence Eckerson, Jr. is here this weekend and next doing his video activism thang with City Repair.</description>
